As a photographer, I often have the privilege of meeting and photographing people who are making a positive impact in their community. One such person is Dr. Selena McDaniell, a talented dentist who joined Carrie Muzny & Associates practice in Market Street, The Woodlands, Texas in 2017.
I had the pleasure of photographing Dr. McDaniell for a feature in the May issue of Living Magazine, which is distributed in The Woodlands area. From the moment I met her, I could tell that she was passionate about her work and dedicated to providing the highest quality care to her patients.
Dr. McDaniell's journey to becoming a dentist began at Roanoke College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Health Care Delivery. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After that, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at UT Health in Houston, where she focused on caring for patients with complex dental needs, including full mouth restoration, cosmetics, and restorative dentistry.
One of Dr. McDaniell's strengths is her artistic eye, which she uses to enhance her patients' smiles through veneers, crowns, and bonded restorations. She takes a subtle approach, aiming to enhance her patients' natural beauty rather than create an artificial look.
For Dr. McDaniell, the most rewarding part of her job is seeing the confidence her patients have when they leave her practice. She takes pride in helping people feel better about themselves and their smiles, and it shows in the way she talks about her work.
During our photoshoot, I was struck by Dr. McDaniell's warmth and kindness. She has a gentle demeanor that puts people at ease, which is especially important in a dental office where many people feel anxious.
