Personal Branding and Business Portraits for Amanda Acker

Personal Branding and Business Portraits for Amanda Acker

Spring and Summer mini sessions in Pittsburgh’s Mellon Park.

I had a very inspiring client whose story I’d like to share. Coming from a past of drug abuse, homelessness, and being a formerly incarcerated person, Amanda Acker has broken through and was able to let the good things into her life. Amanda is now on a mission to inspire and motivate people who have had a difficult past. Her core message is that we are stronger than we think and can have the life we imagine regardless of our past.

Winter Mini Session for Rufa Akhmedli

Winter mini sessions.

Rufa Akhmedli wanted a bunch of portraits to use on her Instagram account. They had to look different enough, as if taken on separate occasions. Rufa brought 3 charges of clothes and I was amazed how quickly she changed into yet another gorgeous outfit within the allocated 30 minutes still keeping her poise.

A portrait session in a hotel lobby

A portrait session in a hotel lobby

I was reminded today of a hotel shoot we did with Alena last summer in Washington DC. The city was empty and the hotel atrium was completely desolate. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to do a spontaneous mini-session. We utilised the midday sun diffused by the hotel roof and the on-camera flash to get a variety of shots within a short period of time.

I really like the results but if I were doing a personal branding shoot for a client, I would have used a couple of softboxes of white umbrellas to achieve the complete feeling of natural light and of course would shoot tethered and take my time to get each shot absolutely perfect.

Juliane’s Business Portraits

Juliane’s Business Portraits

“I love the way you captured the spirit of your subjects. I know Melanie and her family well and it shows what an incredible family they are, and their individual unique personalities. With her professional photos, I like how you were able to strike a balance between them being very professional but personal, since she's in the fitness industry, I love how they show that off, but not in a stiff way where if feels like she's posing. Just brilliant!
I would hope with mine that they reflect my personality. I pride myself on excellent customer service, personal attention, and most of all that the design experience is fun and the end results reflect my clients and their unique tastes.” Juliane M.
