Taylor's Senior Portraits in The John Cooper School Theater
Photographing Taylor Birdsall for her high school senior photos was a truly memorable experience that perfectly encapsulated her passion and personality. As a soon-to-be graduate of The John Cooper School in the Woodlands, Texas, Taylor's session held a special significance. We kicked off the creative shoot in my photography studio, where Taylor donned her emerald green graduation cap and gown, radiating confidence and grace. It was evident from the start that she was not just an ordinary senior; she exuded an undeniable love for the arts.
To celebrate Taylor's deep-rooted connection to theater and music, we embarked on an artistic journey that highlighted her unique interests. We created a captivating art installation using the theater and musical playbills she had collected over the years, a testament to her and her mother Julianne's shared passion for the arts. Drawing inspiration from the world of theater, I set up gelled lights in the background, mimicking the warm glow of stage lights. This backdrop allowed us to capture Taylor in her element, as if she were center stage, ready to take on the world.
The second day of our photoshoot was equally enchanting, as we ventured to The John Cooper School's theater with the kind permission of the stage director. In this iconic setting, we were able to bring Taylor's theatrical dreams to life. Through the lens, we captured moments that transported viewers to the heart of the stage. Some shots showed Taylor in a stand-up comedy act, others in the midst of a powerful musical performance, and one, in particular, became my personal favorite: Taylor seated in the depths of the theater auditorium, surrounded by the rich, deep red seats. In that moment, she appeared both thoughtful and mysterious, embodying the essence of her artistic spirit and the promising future that awaited her beyond the curtain call.
