Portrait series for Michelle
Before our session: “I HATE my pictures being taken and I am VERY hard to photograph. (My smile makes me squint and then my eyes looked closed). I ONLY like candid shots and loved how natural Amy's pictures looked that could still be used as head shots.”
~ Michelle S.
Audition Headshots for Todd
“I really like how professional the photos were and how the website was formatted!” ~ Todd
A portrait session in a hotel lobby
I was reminded today of a hotel shoot we did with Alena last summer in Washington DC. The city was empty and the hotel atrium was completely desolate. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to do a spontaneous mini-session. We utilised the midday sun diffused by the hotel roof and the on-camera flash to get a variety of shots within a short period of time.
I really like the results but if I were doing a personal branding shoot for a client, I would have used a couple of softboxes of white umbrellas to achieve the complete feeling of natural light and of course would shoot tethered and take my time to get each shot absolutely perfect.
A 10-min fall mini-session, natural light only
I needed to do a 10-min fall mini-session photo challenge, natural light only, any place, any time. So I asked my favorite model in the world to pose for me in our backyard. It was raining really hard this week but there was a short window yesterday when we could go outside and do it. Love these impromptu moments.
Joyka’s portraits at Lake Erie (part 2)
You should have seen Joyka yesterday when we took him to Lake Erie for probably the last time this year to spend time on the beach and splash in warm waves. He didn’t sit still for a second and swam back and forth retrieving a stick from the deep turquoise waters countless times. I wish we lived a bit closer to come here more often.
Portraits of Ibrahim
Ibrahim performed as William Barfée at Sewickley Academy’s senior school musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.
Ibrahim shines in every theater production and transforms seamlessly into his multifaceted roles: Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Pumbaa in The Lion King, and Jean Passepartout in Around the World in 80 Days.
Joyka’s portraits at Lake Erie
I haven’t posted Joyka for a while, so here’s a bit of dog portraits and candids from one of our trips to Lake Erie.
Swimming (and everything to do with water) is Joyka’s favorite activity, mine as well, and Presque Isle State Park is a perfect location for that.
I wish it was a bit closer to home or we lived a little closer to the lake.
10th Wedding Anniversary in Pittsburgh: Stacy and Dae
Stacy and Dae have a special connection with Pittsburgh, so it was only natural that they came over to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
We spent an hour capturing their feelings for each other and the city vibes and colors and these were their favorite portraits from our session.
Portraits of Abby
“You are such a talented photographer and all of the photos are so well done!”
~ Kim B., mother of Abby
Portraits of Luke
Luke was a Stage Manager in Sewickley Academy’s senior school musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.
Luke had been doing tech theatre since 6th grade and the Spelling Bee as his 4th show as stage manager. Tech work is his special talent and countless shows and presentations would not have gone as smoothly without his input.
Portraits of Sarah
“Once again, you took some great pictures!” ~ Cindi G., Sarah’s mother
Juliane’s Business Portraits
“I love the way you captured the spirit of your subjects. I know Melanie and her family well and it shows what an incredible family they are, and their individual unique personalities. With her professional photos, I like how you were able to strike a balance between them being very professional but personal, since she's in the fitness industry, I love how they show that off, but not in a stiff way where if feels like she's posing. Just brilliant! I would hope with mine that they reflect my personality. I pride myself on excellent customer service, personal attention, and most of all that the design experience is fun and the end results reflect my clients and their unique tastes.” Juliane M.
Portraits of Isabella
“Thank you so much! I absolutely LOVED the photos.” ~ Isabella A.
Isabella performed as Mitch Mahoney at Sewickley Academy’s senior school musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.
Isabella joined the musical to make her high school experience complete before heading to Penn State to become a Nurse Anesthetist. Besides theater, Isabella was the captain of the school’s cheer team and played Softball outside of school. In her free time, Isabella writes and releases music with her producer. Way to go, Izzie! All the best in all your new beginnings!
Portraits of Ella
Ella performed as Leaf's Mom and was also the show’s scenic designer at Sewickley Academy’s senior school musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”. While this was her ninth Senior School production, she hadn’t acted since the 5th grade, and was usually backstage as an irreplaceable part of the tech crew.
Stay tuned for Ella’s studio portraits in her ice-skating costumes!
Portraits of Sajen
Sajen Schuchert performed as Carl Dad at Sewickley Academy’s senior school musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”. He had enjoyed his musical theatre experience throughout his 11 years at the school. Sajen had managed to combine baseball and rehearsals during the spring and did really well in both.
